Virus/Worm Advice: All Arable Group
systems are protected by the latest antivirus software, along with the latest
virus definitions. In addition, all email to and from TAG is automatically
scanned for viruses by our ISP.
However, all TAG members are strongly
urged to ensure that they have adequate antivirus protection on their
computers. Some viruses are able to 'spoof' the sender's email address, making
the email look as if it came from a known sender - which may be
thearablegroup.com, or any other 'trusted' contact in your email address book.
Further information on these security threats, and a full explanation
of their capabilities, is available at the Symantec Security Response site: (http://www.sarc.com).
A quick look at the 'Newly Discovered Threats' or 'Recently Updated Threats'
pages at the McAfee Antivirus web site
(http://www.mcafeeb2b.com/naicommon/avert/) should be enough to convince anyone
that antivirus software that is just a week out of date can be useless against
the latest threats. |
